The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 3.8
Aostsoft PDF to Excel Converter is an application which helps you convert PDFs to Excel documents. The interface is simple and doesn’t have useless elements; however, the settings don’t offer any means to change the program’s layout either.
Still, it looks quite neat and all the controls are where they should be. I like that I can select more than one file to convert at once and the conversion process doesn’t take too long.
Using the app is not difficult at all, you only need to follow three basic steps. First you select the documents to convert; then you choose an output format out of three available (.xls, .xlsx, .xlsm); and finally you start the conversion. I noticed that the program doesn’t recognize some diacritics, so you may find some misspelled words; the same thing happens with most math symbols.
You should pay attention whether your PDFs contain images or only text. Taking this into consideration, you should either select ‘Plain Text Mode’ or ‘Image Mode’ in order to get a good result. Otherwise, an error message will appear to inform you that the contents can’t be displayed.
In my opinion, the program's demo version doesn’t help you too much, mainly because your conversions are incomplete and you can't fully judge their quality. What’s more, I encountered a number of errors while the conversion was running. This is why I have to advise you to look for other programs: there are some free and online apps, I’m sure you'll find something better.
